We are looking for a professional, friendly and reliable female to share the home of an intelligent, pleasant older gentleman with a love of dogs, conversation and going for walks. In exchange for low-cost accommodation, we ask that you offer around 10 hours of support each week which could involve basic dog care, cooking or garden maintenance. Note: The dog isnât a full-time pet. the dogs are short-term fostering placements so can be undertrained and sometimes nervous/nippy so any potential sharer would need to consider this. We carry out detailed interviews, references and a DBS check. Please read the Homeshare section of the Age UK Reading website before enquiring to ensure you fully understand the requirements. You must be employed and, where relevant, have the Right to Reside in the UK. Support would include occasional cooking and shared meals, shopping, offering companionship conversation. Someone who likes going for walks, enjoys a rural location, and isnât intimidated by dogs who may be a bit unruly or nervous would be a good candidate. Homesharing is a lifestyle choice suited to considerate, grounded people who have the energy and willingness to offer support at the end of their working day.
