Killumpha House began life as an impressive tower house dating back several centuries. The name derives from the Gaelic “Cill Ionchadha”, meaning “Church of Saint Imchadha”, an early Irish saint. Historical records indicate that Andrew Agnew and his family resided here in 1652, with his son, Alexander Agnew of Killumpha, becoming laird around 1680.
