About this listing

Open House Saturday 19th September (by appointment only) The sellers view... We moved into 81 Penyston Road in 2010 as our first home. Before moving in, we carried out a complete renovation to modernise the property while carefully preserving its Victorian cottage character and charm. One of the best improvements we made was adding the porch. It provides a practical space for coats, shoes and outdoor equipment, helping to keep the main living area tidy and clutter-free. It has also improved the home's energy efficiency by reducing heat loss through the front door. From day one, it was clear that Penyston Road has a wonderful community feel. The road is quiet and peaceful, and we've been fortunate to have friendly, welcoming and quiet neighbours who have always looked out for one another. There is a real sense of community here, which has made it a particularly enjoyable place to live. One of the things we've loved most about this property is its location, which offers the perfect balance of town and country living. Maidenhead town centre and the train station are both within easy walking distance, making commuting, shopping and socialising incredibly convenient. At the same time, the property benefits from a large south-facing garden, which has been a wonderful space for relaxing, entertaining and enjoying the outdoors. Beautiful countryside walks and green spaces are also close by, particularly around Pinkney's Green, providing a peaceful escape from everyday life. We've also found the transport links to be excellent. The M4 is less than a five-minute drive away, with the M40 also easily accessible, making travel and commuting straightforward. Everyday amenities are right on the doorstep, including the popular Saints café, known for its excellent coffee and delicious pastries, the recently refurbished Windsor Castle pub, as well as supermarkets, a pharmacy and a post office, all within easy walking distance. Another aspect we've particularly enjoyed is being so close to the picturesque riverside destinations of Cookham, Marlow and Henley-on-Thames. Each offers its own unique character, with a fantastic selection of scenic walks, independent shops, cafés, restaurants and events throughout the year, making them ideal for weekends and days out. We are extremely sad to be leaving our first home, which has given us so many happy memories over the past 16 years. However, we are excited for the next chapter and hope the new owners will enjoy this wonderful home, friendly neighbourhood and fantastic location as much as we have.
